General Information
CONGRATULATIONS SENIORS FROM THE ENTIRE FALCON FAMILY!!!!!
Guidance Information
- The PHS Guidance department would like to make everyone aware of a new program to help stop bullying and harassment on campus.
If you need to get away from this type of situation in a hurry, look for this sign on classrooms or office doors at lunch or before and after school. These places will be open at one of these times. You can go in to remove yourself from the problem or you can get a report form to fill out and turn in to counseling. You can also get forms in the Guidance and Freshmen Centers.
So, look for the Falcon Peace symbol and let’s help each other keep PHS the best.
Be Safe Falcons!
Attention Falcons:
As the end of the school year quickly approaches, the Guidance Dept. wants to remind you about the US Service Academy nominations process.
There are four US Service Academies, which include the United States Military Academy at West Point, the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, the United States Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point.
The office of Senator Barbra Boxer is currently accepting applications for the 2010 entering class. Students planning to apply for one of the service academies for the incoming class of 2010 must send completed application materials postmarked no later than November 1, 2009. Application instructions and materials can be found on Senator Boxer’s website, at http://boxer.senate.gov./services/academy_recs or can be requested by an email message to academy@boxer.senate.gov. Students requesting an application via email, should include applicable contact information and their year of expected entry.
Students who apply for an appointment to a Service Academy must receive a Congressional nomination. Students residing in California may apply for a nomination from either of their two senators, or their member of the House of Representatives.
Any questions, please come by the Guidance Office.
College/Career Information
- Career Center: Students are encouraged to use the computers for anything related to jobs and school, such as creating resumes, job searches, applying for scholarships or to college, and filling out the FAFSA. Hours will be before & after school, during breaks and lunches.
Clubs
- If you are a video gamer, musician or just enjoy technology. Join FalconTech's video game club night, every week, every Friday from after school until 5:00pm. The charge as part of our fundraiser is just $1, which will allow us to purchase more games and consoles.
Athletics
- Congratulations to swimmer extraordinaire Mary Brown who won the 100 butterfly in a time of 58.76 (new school record) & took a close second in the 50 freestyle - 24.54. We all wish her the best as she competes this Tuesday at the Masters meet.
- Christen Rivers ran to a new school record in the 200m (24.10) at the CIF finals, breaking the old record of 24.13 set in 1995 by Kadrina Coffee. Christen was 3rd and qualified for the Masters meet this Friday, but will miss the meet in order to walk at graduation. Rivers is ranked in the top 5 in CA and in the top 10 in the USA.
- Calling all girls!! Are you interesting in spiking it? Acing it? If so - come to a meeting Thursday in room 410 immediately after school for a Girls Volleyball meeting with Coach Ali.
